"BIOLUMINESCENTS" by Aldershot Contemp.
🗓️ 24 January – 8 March
Katherine Bouleau @katherinebouleau
For this exhibition, Katherine Bouleau invites us to imagine a different kind of world — one where glowing, plankton-like forms gently drift through our everyday spaces. These large, floating shapes use light to catch our attention, encouraging us to slow down and notice life that usually goes unseen.
Katherine Bouleau creates sculptures and immersive installations inspired by the natural world. Her work explores our relationship with other living things and asks how humans might live more thoughtfully alongside them. She is especially interested in tiny organisms, like plankton, which are easy to overlook but are essential to life on Earth — including our own.
By bringing these hidden forms into view, Katherine’s work highlights how deeply connected we are to nature, even when we don’t realise it. Her installations offer a calm, reflective experience that blends science, imagination, and art.
Katherine’s work has been shown at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, The Bath Open Art Prize Exhibition, the James Hockey Gallery, and The Garden Gallery at Farnham Museum.
